Mechanical Recycling
Mechanical recycling moves the circular economy
Mechanical recycling is an essential component of the circular economy. Post-industrial and post-consumer waste such as polyurethane industrial trim, old carpets, and empty PET bottles are collected, sorted, shredded, melted, and transformed into secondary raw materials ready for a new application. For plastic waste, mechanical recycling is the ecologically most beneficial and economically most attractive. Now you can incorporate mechanically recycled materials into your designs, without sacrificing performance.

Chemical Recycling
High quality recycled polyamides from plastic waste
BASF’s Ultramid® CCycled™, is a chemically recycled polyamide from multiple pre- and post-consumer waste streams. This product has been validated by Underwriters Laboratories to meet the recycled content criteria by using mass balance allocation. Products using this base resin have the same properties as their conventional equivalents, do not require adjustments to traditional processing methods, and are sustainable raw material alternatives for applications such as packaging film, carpeting, and furniture. This material also displaces fossil resources by using recycled feedstock, diverts waste from landfill/incineration, and contributes to a new circular economy loop.
